9th Avenue Active Transportation

Burns Lake is actively improving their active transportation network. This project provided active transportation options to the elementary school which were previously not available. Active transportation works included separated sidewalks, controlled crossings, and education regarding active transportation. The Village also took this opportunity to construct improvements to 9th Avenue.

9th Avenue had many locations of base failure and drainage issue. The road improvements consisted of excavating and construction a gravel road base, piped stormwater drainage, and an under drain system to prevent ground water from saturating the roads gravel base structure.

Landsdowne Active Transportation

The City of Kamloops Centre Sanitary Sewer Trunk Main project was identified as a DCC project in 2022 to improve sanitary sewer system capacity in the city centre area. Much of the downtown area is currently serviced via small diameter sewer mains in alleyways. Given the density increases and ongoing development there is a need to relieve pressure on the network.

The concept for the project was to install a large diameter (nominally 600mm) gravity sewer trunk main roughly from the 700-block of Lansdowne Street westward towards eventual discharge at the Riverside Lift Station. The alleyway sanitary sewer mains will periodically be connected to the trunk main to reduce flows in the existing network.

District Wine Village

This project consisted of developing bare land into the District Wine Village; boutique tasting rooms, restaurants, and outdoor venue in Oliver, BC.

TRUE provided design and construction services for the water, sewer, process waste, and both overland and underground storm conveyance systems. Because the layout is circular and decreases in elevation towards the center of the development, this posed complexity in the servicing strategy requiring the use of HDPE piping for its superior bending radius, and permeable pavers.

Construction began in 2020 and was completed in 2021. The District Wine Village has since been in successful operation and is now a destination within the Okanagan Valley, BC.
