About the Project
Project Description
Burns Lake is actively improving their active transportation network. This project provided active transportation options to the elementary school which were previously not available. Active transportation works included separated sidewalks, controlled crossings, and education regarding active transportation. The Village also took this opportunity to construct improvements to 9th Avenue.
9th Avenue had many locations of base failure and drainage issue. The road improvements consisted of excavating and construction a gravel road base, piped stormwater drainage, and an under drain system to prevent ground water from saturating the roads gravel base structure.
