East Shuswap Road Water Main Upgrades

TRUE Consulting was retained for design and construction services for East Shuswap Road Watermain Upgrades to help facilitate necessary upgrades for the upcoming health and wellness center. This job consists of the installation of 750m of 300mm PVC watermain within the MoTI right of way. In addition to this, two horizontally drilled directional crossings were installed to provide water to the wellness center site, and a future subdivision.

Ts’uubaa-asatx Community Core

The Ts’uubaa-asatx First Nation is located on Vancouver Island. Their people have resided along Cowichan Lake since time immemorial and their traditional territory stretches the entire Cowichan Lake watershed. Today they reside on their Indian Reserve #1, which is approximately 97 acres and located directly west of the Town of Lake Cowichan.

The Nation is currently constructing their Community Core, which includes housing for band members, a community centre, community garden, splash park and public works building. Fire protection will be provided from a new concrete potable water reservoir.

The Nation’s goal and vision for their community is to have a central place to gather and support members through establishment health, wellness, and early education facilities.

In addition to the Community Core, the Nation has worked on establishing a waterfront that allows for community gathering and recreation.

TŜIDELDEL First Nation

Tŝideldel First Nation undertook a rebuild and new build of approximately 8 kilometres of community subdivision road at Redstone Flat and Michel Gardens. The project included the design of new roads, upgrading existing roads to current design standards, paving of the high volume roads, and construction water and sewer infrastructure to support future housing needs in the community.

The planning, design, and approval phase of the project took several years and was approved for construction in 2022. Works began in the fall of 2022 and were completed in the fall of 2023. The road improvements increase safety in the community and reduce Operation and Maintenance requirement associated with the community roads.
