About the Project
Project Description
Orchards Walk is a planned mixed use development comprised of single and multi-family residential, a senior’s complex and commercial retail located adjacent to the Trans-Canada Highway.
This development created two new City streets connecting to existing signalized and un-signalized roadways, it included the following site servicing improvements:
Approximately 600 meters of new roadways
Upgrades to existing sewage lift station
Traffic calming round-about
440 meters of new sanitary sewer mains and five concrete manholes connected to the existing lift station
Overland flood routing, confirmation of stormwater retention pond capacity for approximately 520 meters of storm sewer collection mains tied to existing stormwater infrastructure prior to discharge to the Thompson River
Fire flow analysis and detailed design determined the required watermain sizing to service the ultimate buildout of development resulting in about 370 meters of 300mm diameter watermains having four strategically located fire hydrants
Street Lighting, full servicing from 3rd party utilities (Hydro, Telus, Shaw, Fortis)
