About The Opportunity
TRUE is currently seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our Williams Lake office. This individual’s primary role will involve design using AutoCAD Civil 3D on a variety of municipal infrastructure and land development projects for our municipal and private sector clients in the BC Interior.
While the specific role will depend on the individual’s experience and interests, some responsibilities may include the following:
Design of municipal infrastructure using AutoCAD Civil 3D including creation of earthworks, site grading plans, road design, and water/sewer/storm infrastructure plan & profiles
Topographic, construction layout, and as-built survey using Trimble Survey GPS
Construction field inspection and reporting
Provide GIS support utilizing ESRI software
Working with diverse teams of Professional Engineers, EITs, and technologists
Travel to project sites within British Columbia.
Williams Lake is located in the heart of the Cariboo Region and has a population of approximately 11,000, with more than 25,000 in the surrounding area. Only 550 km from Vancouver, Williams Lake offers a large year-round selection of activities including fishing, hiking, mountain biking, downhill and cross-country skiing, snowmobiling, and water sports on many of the surrounding lakes. Our team in Williams Lake currently includes two Professional Engineers, one BC Land Surveyor, and five technologists as well as other technical staff. When needed, the Williams Lake office routinely engages specialty engineering services from TRUE’s other offices and uses those specialty engineers as a resource to aid in the growth and development of the Williams Lake office.
About You
Our ideal candidate will possess the following qualifications, strengths, and interests:
Experience in a civil engineering technology role, preferably in municipal infrastructure
Graduate of a Civil Engineering Technology program
Registered or eligible to register with ASTTBC as an Applied Science Technologist
Proficiency with AutoCAD Civil 3D
Experience with MMCD is an asset
Experience with field inspections is an asset
Experience in GIS/ESRI software is an asset
Strong written English and verbal communication skills
An outgoing, positive personality with client-driven perspective
Excellent organization and planning skills
Commitment, energy and a strong work ethic
Class 5 Drivers License and personal vehicle are required

Salary
The annual salary range for this position is $65,000 – $90,000, depending on experience.
